I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our local for selecting our delegation to attend the 2025 CUPE National Convention. I am extremely proud of how our local was represented and the high level of participation we achieved.

Many of our delegates not only fulfilled their roles but went above and beyond—having the courage to stand up in front of over 2,000 delegates from across the country to speak on important resolutions that impact workers nationwide.

I can’t thank our delegates enough for their commitment and dedication to the labor movement and for embodying the solidarity that makes CUPE strong.

In solidarity,
Mike Myers
President, CUPE Local 561

We ask all of our members to reflect, acknowledge and honour in their own way the First Nations land on which they live work and play.

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional and unceded territory of the following Nations; Coast Salish,  kʷikʷəƛ̓əmᓪ(Kwikwetklem) , Stó:lo, sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh),  Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), Métis, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), the Semá:th and Mathxwí  and Inuit First Nations, in which our Local is able to operate.
